One of the best forms of free publicity is getting on a radio or TV show. There are several important reasons you may want to do this.
One is it raises your profile in your audiences mind big time. Two, it improves your bio. Just having the names of prominent radio shows listed next to your name makes people think "this is someone important."
Three, the people who produce radio shows like to have guests that have already appeared on the radio or TV so they know the person will do well on their program.
There are quite a few different formats for these kinds of radio or TV programs. There are live programs especially on the radio. Or pre-recorded TV programs just between you and the host.
There are also TV programs in which you'll be interviewed along with a panel and their may even be a live studio audience. And on radio you may even have live callers calling in to ask you questions.
What you want to do is to choose a medium that works best for your top and your personality.
If you don't like to deal with the unexpected then you may not like the idea of a random caller on a radio program asking you a question just to try and trip you up. Or if you thrive on surprise you may like the prospect that someone will ask you an unexpected or unusual question.
How can you find radio shows? One place is to find the directories in your public library. Another is to go online to websites like radio-directory.com and tvtalkshows.com.
